take pART, a free arts and literature weekend for young people, returns to Venue Cymru for year 6 on January 10th and 11th.  With 57 different workshops, performances and drop-in sessions all under the same roof there really is something to inspire everyone.

Top up your gas and electricity over Christmas at PayPoint

I am writing to let you know that around half the 28,000 neighbourhood shops in the PayPoint network throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will be open on Christmas Day, when, last year, 225,000 people topped up their gas or electricity. In total last year, more than 3.9 million people were able to top up their gas and electricity meters at PayPoint over the Christmas and New Year holidays, saving many a family celebration.

Penmaenmawr Community Support Group

Penmaenmawr Library Building re-opens after refurbishment.After a two week closure, Penmaenmawr Community Library re-opened on schedule at 10am Tuesday 25th November, thanks to the cooperation and co-ordination of the contractors, Conwy County Library Service staff and the Volunteers of the Penmaenmawr Community Support Group (PCSG) who now manage and operate the building.

Cold Weather Payments

As you may be aware, a Cold Weather Payment of £25 per week is made by the Department for Work and Pensions to people on certain benefits. This payment is made automatically when the temperature in their area drops to 0°C or less for an average of 7 days.Temperatures are measured by 93 Met Office weather stations across Great Britain.

Minister visits local businesses in Aberconwy

The Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Wales, Alun Cairns MP, accompanied by local MP Guto Bebb, visited two local businesses in Aberconwy on Friday.  The minister and Guto visited the Bodnant Welsh Food Centre and the Siwgr a Sbeis factory in Llanrwst in order to highlight the importance of small businesses here in Aberconwy and Wales and the contribution they make to job creation and prosperity.
