Raw Goat Milk Soap made in Llandudno/Sebon o Lefrith Amrwd Gafr

With the chain glinting in the sunlight – another five photographs and we managed to walk another five yards tempted across the road by the fantastic array of beautiful looking soaps and gifts on offer – we discovered – by The Soaping Goat.  So – here we met an effervescent farmers wife from Craig y Don, who needed a pure soap and goats milk for her twins who suffered from eczema.  After a training course in soap making, which of course uses water, she turned her mind to how to make soap with goats milk.  By this point, this lady has acquired a milking goat and is milking by hand.  These beautiful soaps – expertly packaged in recyclable materials – are made in small batches in her farmhouse kitchen and use only pure essential oils and natural colours.   We were so struck by this lady’s passion about her animals, her commitment to making products that were top rate but also wanting to keep her business small and intimate.

Sam – who at this point was not having her photo taken by any tourist – chose a Rosemary, Peppermint and Lavender soap – I was vacillating between the wash cloths and the crochet “bee” bags.  I couldn’t make my mind up…..

This stall was really lovely and set us in mind of Christmas presents.  These would make ideal gifts.  You can find The Soaping Goat on facebook – where details of which local shows are being attended are put.

Gyda’r gadwyn yn pefrio yn yr heulwen – pum llun arall a llwyddasom i gerdded pum llath arall ar draws y ffordd ar ôl cael ein denu gan arddangosfa o sebonau ac anrhegion hyfryd yr olwg a oedd ar werth yno – gwnaethom ddarganfod – gan y Soaping Goat.  Felly – yma gwnaethom ni gwrdd â gwraig fferm fyrlymus o Graig y Don, a oedd angen sebon pur a llefrith gafr ar gyfer ei hefeilliaid a oedd yn dioddef o ecsema.  Ar ôl bod ar gwrs hyfforddi gwneud sebon, sydd yn defnyddio dŵr wrth gwrs, meddyliodd hi ynglŷn â sut i wneud sebon gyda llefrith gafr.  Erbyn yr adeg yma, roedd y ddynes hon wedi cael gafr i’w godro ac mae hi’n godro efo llaw.  Mae’r sebonau hyfryd hyn – wedi’u pecynnu yn ddeheuig mewn deunyddiau ailgylchadwy – ac wedi cael eu gwneud mewn sypynnau bychain yng nghegin ei ffermdy ac mae hi’n defnyddio hylifau hanfodol pur a lliwiau naturiol.  Roeddem wedi cael ein cyffwrdd gan angerdd y ddynes hon am ei hanifeiliaid, ei hymrwymiad i wneud cynnyrch a oedd o ansawdd ardderchog, ond hefyd ei dymuniad i gadw’i busnes yn fychan ac yn glos ar yr un pryd.

Dewisodd Sam, nad oedd yn cael tynnu’i llun gan unrhyw ymwelydd – ar yr adeg yma – sebon Rhosmari, Pupur-fintys a Lafant – roeddwn i’n methu â phenderfynu rhwng y cadachau ymolchi a’r bagiau “gwenyn” wedi’u crosio.  Ni allwn benderfynu pa’r un …..

Roedd y stondin hwn yn wirioneddol brydferth ac roedd yn ein hatgoffa am anrhegion Nadolig.  Byddai’r rhain yn gwneud anrhegion delfrydol.  Gallwch chi weld y Soaping Goat ar Facebook – lle gellir gweld manylion am sioeau lleol.
