Do you know how to help someone having a stroke? / Ydych chi’n gwybod sut i helpu rhywun sy’n cael strôc?

Each month the British Red Cross announce a new First Aid tip.  In light of May being National Stroke Awareness Month, this month’s tip is how to assist someone suffering from a stroke.

There are two simple steps:

1. Carry out the FAST test:

·         Face: is there weakness on one side of their face?

·         Arms: can they raise both arms?

·         Speech: is their speech easily understood?

·         Time: to call 999.

2. Call 999 as soon as possible. The faster a person having a stroke gets medical help, the less damage there will be.

Bob mis, mae’r Groes Goch Brydeinig yn cyhoeddi awgrym newydd ar gyfer Cymorth Cyntaf.  Gan fod mis Mai yn Fis Cenedlaethol Ymwybyddiaeth o Strôc, mae’r awgrym y tro hwn ar gyfer cynorthwyo rhywun sy'n cael strôc.

Mae dwy ffordd syml:

1. Gwnewch y prawf Gweithredu’n Gyflym - FAST:

·         Wyneb (Face): a oes gwendid ar un ochr i'w hwyneb?

·         Breichiau (Arms): ydyn nhw’n gallu codi'r ddwy fraich?

·         Lleferydd (Speech): a yw’n hawdd deall eu lleferydd?

·         Amser (Time): ffonio 999.

2. Ffoniwch 999 cyn gynted ag y gallwch chi. Po gyntaf y bydd rhywun sy’n cael strôc yn cael cymorth meddygol, y lleiaf fydd y niwed.
