Upcoming Public Accounts Committee sessions. / Sesiynau sydd ar y gweill gan y Pwyllgor Cyfrifon Cyhoeddus.

Over the next two weeks the Public Accounts Committee will be taking a magnifying glass to the number of people in the UK learning STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects, as well as the BBC’s commercial activities. You can watch both sessions online on parliamentlive.tv.

Petitions debate: Leaving the European Union.

On Monday, 22nd January MPs will debate an e-petition regarding the United Kingdom leaving the European Union after it was signed by over 100,000 people. The petition has been signed by 157 people from Aberconwy and 133,196 people from across the UK.

Petitions debate: Brexit.

On Monday, 11th December MP’s will debate four e-petitions, all relating to the outcome of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.

Petitions debate: Public Sector Pay.

On Monday, 4th December MP’s will debate an e-petition entitled “Pay Up Now! – Scrap the pay cap and give public servants a meaningful pay rise” after it was signed by 100,000 people. The petition has been signed by 153 people from Aberconwy and 147,056 people from across the UK.

BBC News - More rural Welsh communities to get broadband cash.

UK Government has announced an additional £650m funding package to support the roll out of fibre broadband in the UK, with £56 being earmarked for Wales.  Wales Office Minister Guto Bebb spoke to BBC news about how this funding would help rural communities in Wales.

This week Aberconwy MP Guto Bebb signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment, in doing so pledging his commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day and honouring those who were murdered during the Holocaust as well as paying tribute to the extraordinary Holocaust survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people.

Aberconwy MP Guto Bebb attended a Wales Office drinks reception with Secretary of State for Wales Alun Cairns and Leader of the Welsh Conservative Group in the National Assembly for Wales, Andrew RT Davies AM.

Climbing the Elizabeth Tower.

Elizabeth Tower, more commonly known as Big Ben, is one of the world’s most iconic buildings.  Big Ben is nickname for the great bell that resides inside the tower, at the northernmost end of the Palace of Westminster.  Completed in 1859, for many years the tower was simply named the Clock Tower.
