Guto’s North Wales Weekly News column - 26th December 2018 // Colofn Newyddion Wythnosol Guto ar gyfer Gogledd Cymru - 26 Rhagfyr 2018

It’s a slightly odd thing to find myself writing a column for after Christmas before the actual day itself.  Such is life when you are given deadlines and let’s be fair, even the team at the Weekly News deserve some time off.

Mae’n deimlad rhyfedd braidd cael fy hun yn ysgrifennu colofn ar gyfer y cyfnod ar ôl y Nadolig cyn i’r diwrnod ei hun gyrraedd.  Felly mae hi pan mae’n rhaid gweithio i ddedlein ond, i fod yn deg, mae tîm y Weekly News hefyd yn haeddu rhywfaint o seibiant.

Guto’s North Wales Weekly News column - 28th November 2018 // Colofn Newyddion Wythnosol Guto ar gyfer Gogledd Cymru – 28 Tachwedd 2018

Another crazy few weeks in British politics. So what has happened? The Prime Minister brought back her 585 page Withdrawal Agreement which is a detailed and almost impossible to read document that outlines the nature of our divorce from the European Union.

Mae’r wythnosau diwethaf wedi bod yn gyfnod gwallgof arall o ran gwleidyddiaeth Prydain. Felly, beth sydd wedi digwydd? Daeth y Prif Weinidog â’i Chytundeb Gadael 585 tudalen yn ôl gyda hi – sef dogfen fanwl bron yn amhosib ei darllen, sy’n amlinellu natur ein cytundeb ar gyfer gwahanu oddi wrth yr Undeb Ewropeaidd.

Remembrance Sunday:
As you all know this year was the hundredth anniversary of the end of the First World War.  I have been constantly surprised at the growing turnout for Remembrance Sunday since my election in 2010 with numbers increasing dramatically since the efforts to commemorate the First World War started back in 2014.  This year was a fitting pinnacle for those efforts and the numbers at services throughout the Constituency of Aberconwy were a testament to the way in which this anniversary has clearly touched the hearts of local people.

Sul y Cofio:
Fel y gwyddoch i gyd, eleni oedd canmlwyddiant diwedd y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf. Ers fy ethol yn 2010, rwyf wastad wedi cael fy synnu gan y dorf gynyddol sy’n troi allan ar gyfer Sul y Cofio, ac mae’r niferoedd wedi cynyddu’n aruthrol ers yr ymdrechion i gofio’r Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf ddechrau yn 2014. Roedd eleni yn benllanw addas ar gyfer yr ymdrechion hynny ac roedd y niferoedd mewn gwasanaethau ar draws Etholaeth Aberconwy yn dyst i’r ffordd y mae’r garreg filltir hon yn amlwg wedi cyffwrdd â chalonnau pobl leol.

Sharp End.

On 12th November 2018 Guto appeared on ITV’s “Sharp End”, discussing Brexit and the rumours around what would be included in the EU Withdrawal Agreement (the interview took place before the agreement was unveiled days later).

Ar 12fed Tachwedd 2018, ymddangosodd Guto ar “Sharp End” ar ITV yn trafod Brexit a’r sïon am gynnwys posibl Cytundeb Gadael yr UE (cynhaliwyd y cyfweliad cyn i’r cytundeb gael ei gyhoeddi rai diwrnodau’n ddiweddarach).
