Getting Ready for Winter

On Monday 27th October British Gas launched their ‘Getting Ready for Winter’ campaign . The launch event in the House of Commons was attended by well over 100 people. Also in attendance was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Climate Change, Amber Rudd MP, who delivered a well received keynote speech to those who attended.This event was used to highlight the support provided for customers, including free insulation that is available to nine out of ten homes that need it, the Government’s Warm Home Discount Scheme and the help available from the British Gas Energy Trust.

Dolgarrog War Memorial

I am delighted to pass on news  to you today from the War Memorial Committee at Dolgarrog, a small village in the Conwy Valley in North Wales.    In July this year theysent a letter out to all the local businesses to invite them to join a committee to try and renovate their Cenotaph and Memorial Gardens as they were in need of updating and this being 100th Anniversary of the 1st World War it was therefore appropriate they try to do something as a mark our respect for all those who gave their lives for us.

Return of Blodwen to Llandudno

Llandudno Town Council, who are appointed Trustee to Llandudno Museum have launched a Crowdfunding Appeal to bring Blodwen Home. The return of Blodwen to Llandudno is of significant historic importance to Llandudno and North Wales in general and I know that any support to help this appeal would be greatly appreciated.

Statement by North Wales Police

North Wales Police has received six reports in relation to this (Thoughts of Oscar) since 2009. These reports will now be reviewed by a Detective Inspector previously unconnected with this matter. The review will be carried out with reference to current national guidance and best practice.
